Nigerian rapper Phyno has fired back at an X user who advised him and fellow rapper Olamide to quit music, claiming they’ve lost their relevance.
The user commented after seeing a post about Phyno’s upcoming album, questioning who would still listen to the duo in 2024.
The user wrote,
Unrelated but Phyno and Olamide need to wrap this shiiiit up. They don’t have the juice no more. Wtf still listen to these guys in 2024?”
Phyno, however, did not hold back in his response, tweeting in his native dialect, “Akpa amu gi there,” which translates to “your father’s scrotum.” His sharp response instantly sparked reactions from fans, who quickly showed support for the rapper.
Here are a few reactions:
- One user wrote, “Phyno and Olamide will forever be legends pls.”
- Another commented, “They should wrap up? Coming from someone whose dad is still living up to collect palliative rice and sugar cane from Tinubu.”
- “Nice response,” another user added.
- “I still listen to them in 2024,” tweeted a loyal fan.
Meanwhile, Phyno recently opened up about the struggles he faced early in his career. He revealed that at one point, he was advised to join a cult to fast-track his success, but he chose to believe in hard work and patience instead. This approach has evidently paid off, as Phyno continues to enjoy success and maintain a loyal fan base.
