Pochettino set to be announced as Chelsea Manager

The Blues are planning to hire their fourth manager this season and bring in Mauricio Pochettino, who has been out of work since leaving PSG last summer. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss will take charge at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino believes he could turn Chelsea into title challengers again next season amid positive talks with Chelsea over the manager job, according to journalist Alex Crook.

Chelsea are impressed with the Argentine’s plans for the club and are confident he can hit the ground running as soon as he takes charge. Talks with Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann are over.

Pochettino has made it clear that he fancies the job. Reports say he doesn’t think Chelsea are far from being severe challengers despite their poor season.

After firing Champions League-winning manager, Tuchel, Graham Potter had a terrible run, and interim manager Frank Lampard endured a nightmare during his brief temporary spell, losing to Wolves and Brighton and Real Madrid.

During that run, his team has scored just once and conceded seven times. Two weeks ago, Brighton’s shock wins at Stamford Bridge was the Seagulls’ first-ever in Premier League history.

Chelsea have spent £600m on players and needs a manager to mine that investment properly.

The club has identified Pochettino as the person to improve their fortunes and bring them back to the highest level of competition at Stamford Bridge.
