Controversial Nigerian street singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has reportedly been attacked by some area boys. This incident follows his recent headlines after a physical altercation at Felabration.
According to online reports, the singer was ambushed by armed area boys while on his way to his Zazu Bitter office. Fortunately, Portable’s fans and locals intervened, fighting off the attackers and ensuring his safety.
“Some area boys came to attack Portable with guns on his way to Zazu Bitter office. Big thanks to all Zazuu fans. People from the area came to support. Some Egbon Adugbo collected the gun from them; na God dey save us,” a source revealed.
However, many social media users expressed skepticism about the incident, accusing the singer of clout chasing. Comments in the section ranged from disbelief to outright ridicule:
- One user, Truth Is Bitter9ja, wrote, “If nuisance is a person, so this nuisance thinks we are mumu like his so-called fans?”
- Another, I AmBobbyy, quipped, “You sabi act film pass Itele.”
- King CND commented, “You don go arrange these settings. This is staged; they play.”
- Many others echoed sentiments suggesting that the incident was fabricated for publicity.
This is not the first time Portable has faced violence. In August, he claimed to have been attacked by boys in Iju Ishaga while celebrating a friend’s event. In that instance, he shared a video of himself at home with his wife, expressing pain from the attack. He managed to escape, but two of his boys went missing, and he lost two iPhones and his ATM in the chaos.
Earlier this year, Portable also publicly confronted an upcoming artist whom he accused of attempting to attack him spiritually. He shared videos displaying red clothes and charms allegedly brought by the artist, claiming that he was prepared for any confrontation.
