Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is celebrating a remarkable achievement on the global stage.
Taking to his Instagram, the street-savvy artist announced that he has been honoured with the Best New Act of the Year award from The United States. Adding to the glory, his manager also secured the Entertainment Manager of the Year accolade.
Expressing gratitude to the award organizers, Portable acknowledged that this recognition validates his dedication and effort in the music industry. He thanked his team, fans, and family, hinting at the impending release of his upcoming album.
In a few months, Portable had previously declared himself the new Fela after clinching the Artist of the Year award at the Golden Stars Award. The controversial singer has been on a winning streak, also receiving accolades from Boomplay for hitting 10 million song streams.
Despite his success, Portable hasn’t shied away from addressing disappointments. Notably, he publicly criticized Smooth Productions, the organizers of The Headies, after losing an award. In an Instagram live session, he candidly expressed his feelings, emphasizing his humanity and the challenges he has faced on his journey.
