Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has once again stirred up drama, this time targeting his recent benefactor, Davido. The pair had dinner together just a week ago, but it seems the meeting left Portable with a sour taste.
Taking to Instagram Live, Portable blasted Davido, accusing him of giving bad advice. According to Portable, Davido, who is signed to Sony Music, advised him to sign with Empire and take an advance instead. Portable, determined to chase the same Grammy aspirations as Davido, took offense to this suggestion.
You’re signed to Sony Music but you’re giving me bad advice in America to get signed to Empire & collect advance. The same Grammy you’re chasing is what I’m also chasing,” Portable ranted.

Just last week, Davido granted Portable’s wish by inviting him to dinner at a luxury restaurant in Atlanta. The ‘Jowo’ crooner even gifted Portable a pair of luxury sneakers. Despite this gesture, the meeting has now sparked controversy.
Portable had previously accused Zlatan Ibile of trying to create tension between him and Davido. He claimed Zlatan warned Davido to be cautious around him during their time in Atlanta. Portable expressed his disappointment in Zlatan and told him to stay out of his business.
This is not the first clash between Portable and Davido. In 2022, their relationship soured when Portable supported Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a political race against Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke. This led to Davido unfollowing Portable on Instagram. The two later reconciled after Portable publicly apologized and Davido re-followed him.
