Portable knocks Cubana Chief Priest over Tinubu comment on Nnamdi Kanu, calling out the socialite for what he described as selective courage and double standards.

Controversial singer Portable has taken a swipe at Cubana Chief Priest following the socialite’s open letter to President Bola Tinubu about Nnamdi Kanu’s life imprisonment. Chief Priest had warned that the President might not secure up to 10,000 votes from the South East in 2027 if the IPOB leader remains in custody.

But Portable was unimpressed. Jumping into Chief Priest’s comment section, he blasted him for failing to deliver the same message directly to Tinubu when they met earlier in the year.

He reminded Chief Priest that no one can claim to have more power than the Nigerian government, adding that it was strange to see him speak boldly online after allegedly collecting money from Seyi Tinubu.

But you forgot to tell him when you snapped a picture.
Who told you Tinubu will win? Your brother no be today him dey face am.
You can’t have more power than government. After God, na Government.
You dey fight for your pocket, your brother dey prison.
You forgot to tell Seyi Tinubu say your brother dey prison after you don collect money for where you no work.”

This isn’t the first time Portable has clashed with Chief Priest. In May, the singer even challenged him to a boxing match, saying he had nothing against the socialite but wanted to make more money. He stated his terms clearly: he would fight him for ₦100 million.

Interestingly, last year, Portable had praised Chief Priest after the socialite posted a video of himself and his wife vibing to one of his songs. He thanked him publicly and called him a supporter.

Meanwhile, Portable recently made his position on the 2027 elections known. According to him, he will only vote for a presidential candidate who gives him money and ensures his fans also benefit. He complained that meeting Peter Obi in Benin left him disappointed because he didn’t receive any money.

Portable also revealed that when he met Peter Obi in June, he only got a handshake even though the politician was flying economy while he was in first class.

In July, he met Seyi Tinubu, whom he credited for changing his life. Portable later assured Nigerians that things would get better.

On the other hand, Chief Priest has continued to advocate for Nnamdi Kanu’s release. His long message to President Tinubu warned that the South East may completely withdraw political support if the issue isn’t resolved. He stressed that the detention of the IPOB leader has damaged relationships between the region and the federal government.

Chief Priest did not spare South East ministers and governors either, calling them ineffective and unable to win the people’s trust. He insisted that releasing Kanu is the only real path to securing support in 2027.

He also reminded Tinubu of their last meeting, noting that he respects the President but does not want to watch him fail, especially when those around him are allegedly misleading him.

This comes months after Chief Priest urged the President to stop open grazing following the killings in Benue State. He has also spoken openly about the backlash he received for kneeling before Tinubu, saying critics were only jealous and did not understand the game.
