President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a Presidential Transition Council to manage the handing over of power by his government to the winner of the forthcoming general elections.
The secretary to the government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha announced this in Abuja on Thursday. Members of the committee include the secretary to the government of the Federation, the head of the civil service, permanent secretaries of the ministries of defence, the Interior, foreign affairs, information and culture, federal capital territory administration, and the ministry of finance, budget and national planning.
President Muhammadu Buhari has repeatedly affirmed he would hand over power on May 29, 2023. The creation of the transition council is to increase the ease of hand over and soothe out the communication process.
