Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has responded to critics who have been speculating over the timeline of her pregnancy since she and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, revealed they are expecting their first child.

The influencer and entrepreneur took many by surprise when she posted stunning maternity photos on Instagram alongside her husband, confirming that their bundle of joy is on the way. With her baby bump visibly showing she’s well into her third trimester, some online commentators, dubbed “womb watchers,” began doing the math.

In a subtle but direct message posted to her Snapchat, Priscilla cleared the air. She disclosed that they had a private Nikkai ceremony last year before their public wedding events began. What the public witnessed, she said, was more of a celebration with friends and family, not the actual beginning of their union.

Womb watchers and calculators, another confusion for you,” she wrote. “This was the first time we actually got married after our private introduction last year. We were already married before the Nikkah we posted, which was to celebrate with friends and family members.”

The lovebirds have had a series of elegant ceremonies leading up to their current season of joy. Their wedding journey began with a quiet introduction in Tanzania attended only by close family. This was followed by a civil ceremony in February, just a day before Valentine’s, graced by celebrities like Toyin Abraham, Chioma Good Hair, and Enioluwa.

In April, they held a traditional wedding in Nigeria which drew the attention of A-list personalities and public figures. Two days later, a beachfront white wedding took place in Lagos, and finally, a grand wedding finale was held in Tanzania, where Funke Akindele and some Yoruba movie stars were present.

Beyond shutting down rumours, Priscilla also took time to appreciate her husband, Juma, for going the extra mile. She shared that she had wished for a special song for their unborn baby, and he delivered it within a week.

To my husband, you’re one of a kind. I wanted a special song for our baby, Mkambala, and in less than a week, you delivered. Thank you, hubby. I love you,” she wrote on Instagram.

She also extended gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their outpouring of love and support through prayers, messages, and calls.
