Create and manage long-term goals for program sustainability and impact.
Responsibilities
Program Development and Strategic Planning
- Lead the development of new programs in alignment with the strategic direction of the organization.
- Create and manage long-term goals for program sustainability and impact.
- Develop comprehensive strategies to attract funding from multilateral and multinational institutions, regional and international donors, as well as corporate organizations.
Budget Management and Funding
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, leading grant proposal development efforts to secure financial support.
Partnership and Relationship Management
- Foster and maintain relationships with partners, donors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring productive collaboration and partnership.
- Play a pivotal role in revenue generation by prospecting potential donors, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing successful funding outcomes.
- Develop creative strategies to retain partners, including conducting interviews to gather feedback and integrating it into the organization’s growth plan.
Program Implementation and Evaluation
- Oversee the entire program lifecycle, from conception through to completion, ensuring programs are effectively delivered and aligned with organizational goals.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders, to ensure effective program delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, reporting to senior management and funders regularly.
Leadership and Representation
- Represent the organization at industry forums, client meetings, and conferences, enhancing its visibility and impact.
- Mentor and supervise program staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of growth and learning.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the COO and management to achieve the objectives and goals of the hub.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations, obtaining clearances and reporting to the Executive Director on all significant aspects.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the environmental or non-profit sector.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Knowledge of climate change issues and sustainable development practices in Africa.
