PSG Set for Summer Spending Spree

Paris Saint Germaine is set for a big summer of transfer spending after avoiding Financial fair play rules. PSG’s spending was curbed last summer due to the club being fined by UEFA for breaching FFP rules.

The Paris Club is among eight clubs who have agreed on settlements with UEFA after failing to comply with break-even requirements last season.

They were hit with a €10m (£ 9m/$ 11 m) fine for doing so. They could face further punishment if they breach the rules again. However, record revenues of nearly €800m (£702m/$868m) should bring the club within the limits, and without the threat of sanctions, the club are set for a big summer.

According to the projections PSG has shown UEFA, this year will bring in a record €800m in revenue. This is notably down to ticket sales and hospitality.

Also helping to relieve FFP pressure are the specifics of Kylian Mbappé’s contract extension last year.

The Parisians have already reportedly lined up a few targets. This includes young French stars Rando Muani, and Marcus Thuram. However, one of Lionel Messi or Mbappe could depart the club, as reported by GOAL.
