It is a joyous day in the palace of Ile-Ife as Queen Ashley marks the first birthday of her son with the Ooni of Ife, Prince Ademakinwa.
To celebrate the milestone, the royal mother shared a heartfelt clip from her delivery, describing her son’s birth as a smooth and beautiful journey from the very first scan to the moment she held him in her arms. She declared that Prince Ademakinwa is a true testimony of God’s faithfulness.
In her note, Queen Ashley also expressed deep appreciation to her husband, the Ooni of Ife, for standing firmly by her side throughout her pregnancy. She praised him as a loving father and a devoted husband, whose guidance and care continue to enrich their family.
Happy 1st Birthday to our beloved SONshine, Prince Ademakinwa,” she wrote, adding prayers that her son would grow in wisdom, strength, and grace, and that his light would shine brighter each year.
The couple welcomed their first child together in September 2023. At the time, Queen Ashley revealed how they overcame challenges, including the painful loss of twins, before God blessed them with their son. She also addressed criticisms over referring to him as a crown prince, clarifying that her son’s royal heritage comes from both parents.
The Ooni of Ife married Princess Ashley as his fourth wife in October 2023, a union the Queen described as a dream come true. The wedding, held in Ile-Ife, was graced by dignitaries from across the country.
Since then, Queen Ashley has often shared glimpses of her love for the monarch, praising his kindness, devotion, and the joy he has brought to her life. Earlier this year, she reflected on God’s goodness in her marriage and family, expressing gratitude for His perfect plans.
