Queen Dami, the former wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo and current partner of controversial singer Portable, has shared an empowering message on the significance of self-confidence.
Taking to Instagram, she posted stunning photos of herself, accompanied by a thought-provoking caption.
Having confidence in yourself is really the cheat code to life,” she wrote. “Nothing can throw you off when you know how you coming. When there’s life, there’s hope.”
Her motivational message comes amidst a series of controversies surrounding her relationship with Portable. Recently, the Zazuu star publicly accused Queen Dami of causing trouble at his bar by chasing away the girls who work there. He claimed she has been ungrateful, despite him stepping in to care for her son, the child she shares with the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyeye.
In response to Portable’s outburst, Queen Dami took to social media to express her resilience. She wrote a bold declaration, suggesting she remains unbothered by his words. “Unless you kill God, I’m living in blessings that used to be prayer requests,” she said, affirming her self-worth and adding, “I am her.”
The drama between the pair has drawn public attention, especially considering their unconventional relationship. Just a few weeks ago, Portable praised Queen Dami for her loyalty, defending her against critics who questioned her commitment because she has not had a child with him. He expressed his desire for them to have a child together, adding to the six children he already has.
Queen Dami’s life has been eventful. Before her involvement with Portable, she was married to the late Alaafin of Oyo. Their marriage fell apart after she reportedly violated palace traditions, leading to her abrupt departure. She later admitted that her actions were fueled by frustration and poor advice from friends. Unfortunately, she and the Alaafin never reconciled before his passing in 2022.
