Big Brother Naija alumna Queen Mercy Atang and her husband, David Oyekanmi, are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today. Taking to Instagram, Queen shared a heartfelt message reflecting on their journey of love, challenges, and growth over the past year.
Marking the special occasion, Queen Mercy Atang expressed gratitude and joy for their shared experiences. She described their first year of marriage as a mix of beauty, challenges, and memorable moments. The couple, she revealed, has grown together, learned from each other, and built a life centered on love, trust, and faith.
In her touching tribute, Queen noted:
“We are not just partners but best friends and each other’s greatest blessing. We will always cherish our bond, continue to grow in love and understanding, face every challenge together, and raise Godly children.”
The mother of one also expressed excitement for the future, toasting to more adventures and dreams shared with her husband.
The post, captioned with love and optimism, ended with the words:
“Two hearts, one beat. Till the wheels fall off.”
Despite facing rumours of marital challenges just seven months after their wedding, Queen and her husband have proven their bond remains strong. Late last year, separation speculations arose when Queen unfollowed her husband on Instagram, removed his name from her bio, and deleted photos of him.
However, the couple shut down the rumors when they reunited in the UK for Christmas. Queen shared glimpses of her “wifey duties” during the holiday, while David welcomed her home with affection and promises of pampering.
Queen Mercy Atang and David Oyekanmi tied the knot in March 2024, beginning with an intimate wedding introduction in Akwa Ibom. This event was graced by family, friends, and colleagues, including fellow BBNaija star Nini Singh. Days later, the couple legally wed in a civil ceremony at the Federal Marriage Registry in Lagos.
As they celebrate their first anniversary, Queen and David are looking forward to a lifetime of happiness, love, and shared dreams.
