Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has taken a firm stand against the inequality and double standards surrounding cheating in today’s society.
In a candid Instagram post, the veteran actress expressed frustration over how men who cheat are often celebrated, while women face harsh judgment and ostracism for the same act. She emphasized that cheating is unacceptable regardless of gender and urged society to promote accountability and respect in relationships rather than excusing unfaithful behavior.
Rita Edochie highlighted the hypocrisy of societal attitudes, stating, “When a man cheats, it’s ‘a man’s world,’ and he’s applauded. But if a woman cheats, she is shamed and sent packing. This must change. Cheating is cheating, and the consequences should apply equally to all.”
The actress called for an end to the excuses made for infidelity and encouraged Nigerians to demand better by fostering a culture of mutual respect and honesty in relationships.
