Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun recently reunited with his ex-wife, Faithia Williams, to celebrate a proud moment for their family.
Their son, Khalid Balogun, achieved an extraordinary milestone by graduating with a first-class degree from the University of Lagos’ Creative Department.
Faithia Williams had earlier shared the news on her Instagram page, expressing her overwhelming joy and gratitude for Khalid’s remarkable achievement. She described the moment as one filled with pride and love.
Joining in the celebration, Saidi Balogun posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, accompanied by a clip of the reunion at the graduation ceremony. The proud father reflected on the joy his son brought to his life, especially after enduring a tough year following the loss of one of his daughters.
What joy is greater than this? I am proud of you, Khalid Ayomide Balogun @khalidgram__. You have made me proud today; so also, will your children make you proud. My son graduated with a 1st class!! Thank you, almighty Allah. Thank you for bringing joy back into my heart,” Saidi wrote.
The heartwarming reunion was a testament to the healing journey of the former couple, who have been rebuilding their relationship over recent years. Despite their divorce over two decades ago, Saidi and Faithia have shown consistent support for one another during pivotal family moments.
In October, Faithia took a break from social media to mourn with Saidi after he lost his daughter. Similarly, Saidi attended Faithia’s father’s burial ceremony in July, showing solidarity during her time of loss.
The two stars even made headlines earlier in the year when Faithia referred to herself by her former married name, Faithia Balogun, in an apology to her fans. Their warm exchanges on each other’s birthdays also hinted at a rekindling of mutual respect and friendship.
The couple, who married over 20 years ago and divorced four years later, have come full circle, showing that family milestones can bring even the most estranged relationships back together.
