Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has released a heartfelt public statement following the tragic death of his daughter, Zeenat Balogun.
In a poignant Instagram post, Saidi shared a photo featuring a candle surrounded by flowers, accompanied by heartbroken emojis and birds, symbolizing his grief.
In the family’s statement, shared via Instagram, they expressed profound gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for being a beacon of light during this dark time. The statement described Zeenat as a warrior who embraced life fully, embodying joy, acceptance, and resilience, and as a steadfast believer in the phrase “never give up.”
We extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who reached out to my family during this difficult time. We have been deeply moved by the overwhelming care, the heartfelt messages, and the many condolence visits. Your presence, prayers, and acts of kindness have truly touched our hearts. The love and support from friends, neighbors, and even those we have not seen in years have been a constant source of strength. Your compassion has made this challenging period more bearable, and for that, we are immensely grateful.”
This tragic news follows a series of losses in the Nollywood community, including actor Francis Duru, who mourned the death of his son, Ifeanyi, in August, and skit maker Olagunju Solomon Olamide, known as Akika, who lost his son on Father’s Day last year.
