Job Description
We are looking to hirea self-driven modern trade sales manager, who is a highly motivated and passionate about managing teams and trade effectively, distribution targets within the designated area through active sales in given sales channel.
Responsibilities
- Grow the business in the specified region year-on-year by increasing sales and overall profits.
- Identify new business opportunities and potential customers within the modern trade segment.
- Responsible for the annual sales budget for the designated area in order to achieve sales turnover and gross-profit targets and negotiate business opportunities for the responsible area.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective promotional campaigns and initiatives for the modern trade channel.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and reports, providing accurate and timely information to management.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as logistics, finance, and customer service to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and customer needs to anticipate changes and proactively respond to challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, trade regulations, and ethical standards in all sales activities.
Qualification
- First Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ proven sales experience in managing a field team in a distribution/cosmetics company is most preferred company.
- Familiar with handling modern trade accounts in Lagos, i.e. Cosmetics etc. or modern trade FMCG accounts
- Knowledge of trade regulations and compliance standards within the modern trade industry.
- Understanding of Route to Market strategies and trade channels.
- Strong analytical skills with clear understanding of trade key performance indicators.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- Proficient in the English language, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Goal-oriented with ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Proactive and result-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights to drive business decisions.
- Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
