Veteran music producer and recording artist, Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, has received praise from Nigerians for his efforts in raising over N15 million for the late singer Mohbad’s son.
Samklef shared the news on his Twitter page, expressing his gratitude to everyone who contributed towards the support and well-being of the singer’s son. He shared a screenshot, indicating that the total amount raised is N15,567,300.
Here is the total money raised as at this morning for Mohbad’s son N15,567,300. God bless you all for all you do and for fighting for Imole, he was an Angel among us,” he tweeted.
The news of this fundraising effort was met with joy, and many Nigerians urged Samklef to ensure that the money is used exclusively for the benefit of Mohbad’s son and not accessed by the singer’s father.
Since it became known that Mohbad had a son he was keeping private, many individuals and organizations have stepped forward to offer financial support to his wife and child. Notable donations include N2 million from business mogul Soso Soberekon, N2 million from Nigerian businessman Almubee, and a promise to sponsor the child’s education to university level. Even singer Naira Marley was reportedly raising funds for Mohbad’s son, as reported by media personality and artist Samklef.
The singer’s wife and the mother of his child previously expressed concern about taking on the sole responsibility of caring for their child following his untimely passing, highlighting the challenges of suddenly becoming a single parent.
