Senator Abba Moro of Benue South Senatorial District was elected Senate Minority Leader on Tuesday.
Moro, a two-term Senator on the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) platform, was nominated and confirmed by the opposition party in the red chamber.
He succeeded Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon of Plateau North Senatorial District, who had been dismissed by the Appeal Court.
The Senate has previously designated the Minority Leader to North Central. Senator Mwadkwon, a first-term senator, was selected by the minority caucus.
The elected Minority Leader was a former Minister of Interior under the government of former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
