SENIOR IT SECURITY SPECIALIST Responsibilities

- The Senior IT Security Specialist provides, with minimal direction, the analysis, implementation, and evaluation of current and proposed security initiatives and needs, including performing various activities to support Access Control activities, including maintaining and monitoring user access, performing monthly reviews, monitoring access to the Network, reviewing audit activities, performing monthly reviews and annual user reviews on applications, IT Resources and Outsourced Contractor Services.
- Performs the assigned tasks with a high level of technical complexity or organizational visibility and requires specialized technical or analytical expertise.
- Synthesizes data and information to create reports, manuals, policies, procedures, and presentations of varying levels of complexity.
- Identifies and recommends resolution of processing problems.
- Plans and implements data analyses and reporting projects.
- Develops and produces reports of varying technical complexity.
- Confers with users to determine problems, resolutions, and requirements. Conducts reviews and audits.
- Gathers facts, analyzes data, and prepares synopsis comparing alternatives in terms of cost, time, and availability of tools and personnel, and recommends a course of action.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- Ten (10) or more years of experience with NIST RMF.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in identity and access management and/or system log analysis.
- Knowledge of emerging and current technology products and services that address business needs and enhance work quality.
- Experience implementing complex technical security solutions.
- Experience directing and reviewing teams’ activities, performing security assessments of applications, IT Resources, and outsourced services.
- Ability to analyze operations and methods to improve quality and effectiveness.
- Knowledge of specialized security tools and methodologies such as SharePoint, ServiceNow, Imperva, and other FDIC-approved tools.
- Experience developing presentations and presenting to clients.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- DoD 8570.1 IAM Level III certification before starting work and throughout the entire performance period.
