Job Description
Manage the indirect procurement category, from strategy development to hands-on execution, including supplier market and spend data analysis; preparing and leading sourcing projects; conducting negotiations with suppliers; contracting and implementing supplier agreements; and managing suppliers and contracts.
Responsibilities

- Understand/ analyse IHS spend.
- Understand/ analyse relevant supply market dynamics and supplier capabilities.
- Develop category profiles and plans.
- Manage demand and specifications in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare sourcing strategies.
- Drive procurement initiatives and sourcing projects across indirect category.
- Measure and report on procurement category progress and performance.
- Understand and document business requirements and procurement plan as per category.
- Align category strategies and procurement plans to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Provide overall functional leadership across assigned category.
- Train and coach team-members on category management, sourcing processes, methodology, and tools.
- Develop robust and standard templates for specifications and statement of work.
- Implement category planning process, resulting in robust plans.
- Ensure full visibility of category spend, suppliers and business requirements.
- Manage reporting of key procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned category.
- Develop effective sourcing strategies and tactics for category in scope.
- Lead local and offshore sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
- Implement best-in-class contracts and supply agreements.
- Ensure agreements are handed over to stakeholders for day-to-day implementation and management.
- Lead supplier communication and monitor strategic supplier performance.
- Constructively challenge demand and specifications from internal stakeholders.
- Organize and lead business review meetings with suppliers.
- Ensure supplier issues are effectively captured, managed, and escalated.
- Fine-tune the procurement processes for category scope.
- Define and consolidate KPIs and provide feedback to stakeholders.
- Drive compliance and ensure application of the company’s policies and processes.
- Implement and manage project governance across assigned category.
- Deliver savings and internal efficiencies to the business, from cost, quality, process and time perspectives.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing.
Qualifications
- n combination with relevant procurement certification, e.g. APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), etc.
- Advanced degree in above relevant disciplines will be an asset.
- +10-15 years’ experience in an indirect procurement and/ or operations role.
- Strong category management methodology expertise with ability to train and coach others.
- Proven track record of independently leading sourcing efforts, negotiations and contracting.
- Demonstrable experience in working on complex sourcing projects as well as with influencing and cross-functional team engagement skills.
- Africa and Middle East experience will be an advantage.
- Strong project management skills leading local and/ or global sourcing and outsourcing activities.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
