For the 2022–23 season, Victor Osimhen of Napoli has been awarded the best striker in the Italian premier division. The news was announced on Friday on Lega Serie A’s Twitter account, which oversees the Italian top division.
Rafael Leao of AC Milan and Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan were defeated by Osimhen to win the individual award.
The 24-year-old was instrumental in Napoli’s Scudetto triumph, the team’s first in more than three decades.
For the Partenopei this season, the Nigerian scored 25 league goals. Osimhen is expected to win the Capocannoniere (highest scorer) award when the 2022–23 season comes to an end on Sunday.
The selection for top defender goes to Kim Min-Jae of Napoli.
