Seyi Tinubu, son of the current president of Nigeria, recently took to social media to urge Nigerians to exhibit patience amidst the severe economic crisis gripping the nation.
However, his plea was met with criticism from netizens who pointed out his ostentatious display of wealth, particularly his wristwatch valued at over 340 million Naira. Many found it hypocritical for him to address the hardships faced by Nigerians while flaunting such extravagance.
Tinubu’s appeal came shortly after he expressed his father’s anguish at witnessing the suffering of Nigerians, implying that enduring the present difficulties is necessary for a brighter future. However, his message was overshadowed by public outcry over the stark contrast between his privileged lifestyle and the struggles of ordinary citizens.
In response to Tinubu’s call for patience, actress Mercy Aigbe penned an open letter to him, imploring him to use his influence to address the prevailing hardship in the country. Aigbe expressed her distress over the alarming poverty rates and the devastating impact of the economic downturn on countless lives, highlighting the urgent need for action to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian people.
