Controversial social media activist, Very Dark Man, has been released from prison on bail, with his next court hearing scheduled for December 16th, 2024.
The activist was seen smiling as he walked free from the court premises where his bail was granted.
This release comes after his initial request for bail was denied about two weeks ago. Following this, the courts, along with other public parastatals in the country, went on a short strike.
Very Dark Man’s numerous court appearances and stints in prison throughout 2024 stem from provocative statements he has made on social media. His first arrest of the year involved accusations against top police officers, claiming they were gay and had amorous relationships with the popular cross-dresser Bobrisky, who is currently in prison.
Upon his release from prison a few months ago, Very Dark Man stated that his controversial remarks were a deliberate bait to get himself arrested, aiming to ensure Bobrisky’s subsequent arrest. This feud between Very Dark Man and Bobrisky intensified after the activist’s release, with Bobrisky later being arrested for Naira mutilation, much to Very Dark Man’s satisfaction.
In addition to his ongoing issues with Bobrisky, Very Dark Man has been active in other advocacy efforts. He recently filed a petition against Bobrisky, accusing him of publicly engaging in amorous relationships with other men. Moreover, he has helped others in difficult situations, including advocating for popular influencer Nickie Dabarbie’s release after her arrest following allegations against singer Skiibii. Although Very Dark Man was behind bars during her release, he played a significant role in her legal support by sending a lawyer to assist her.
