About the job
We are seeking an experienced and creative social media manager. Are you a lover of sports? In this role, you are responsible for developing and executing engaging social media strategies to grow our brand presence, increase engagement, and drive traffic to our sports content. You should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to express views creatively.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of our social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
- Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals.
- Create compelling, on-brand social media content including text posts, images, videos, live streams, etc.
- Monitor social media trends and conversations relevant to our sports audience.
- Analyze social media performance data and provide recommendations to optimize our strategy.
- Collaborate with the sports writing team to amplify and promote new content on social media.
- Promptly engage with our sports fans by responding to comments, messages, and queries.
- Stay updated on the latest social media platforms, tools, and best practices.
- Identify and leverage influencer and partnership opportunities to expand our social reach.
- Measure and report on key social media metrics and KPIs.
Qualifications
- Experience covering or writing about sports is highly desirable.
- 2+ years of experience managing social media channels, ideally in a sports or entertainment setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, or a related field.
- Excellent writing and content creation skills with experience crafting engaging social media copy.
- Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
- A proven track record of growing social media audiences and driving engagement.
- Knowledge of major social media platforms and their unique features/capabilities.
- Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
- Strong analytical skills to measure and report on social media performance.
Work mode: 90% remote 10% onsite.
