Mentally Aware Nigeria Initiative is a youth-run and all of our staff and the majority of our volunteers fall within the age group of our primary target group. We have also co-designed our activities with and for young people who are engaged with our programming, including those with lived experience of mental health conditions.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Social Media Officer at MANI located in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Social Media Officer will post, monitor, review, and analyze comments and conversations on MANI’s social media sites and also on external social media. Manage the organisation’s social media visibility, and review social media campaigns. Review all social media posts for accuracy and ensure inappropriate content is removed. Create engagement on all of MANI’s social media platforms. Advocate for mental health awareness through creative and impactful storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safeguarding by ensuring that all online interactions are respectful and safe.
- Ensure all social media content protects the dignity and privacy of individuals, particularly those with lived experience of mental health issues.
Qualification
- BSc. A bachelor’s degree in Communication, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a social media officer, or a similar role, preferably within the non-profit or advocacy sector.
- Excellent knowledge of social media best practices.
- Ability to effectively use a variety of social media platforms and Analytic tools.
- Ability to run ADs. Analytical and multitasking skills.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues, advocacy, and related terminologies.
- Computer Literate: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Word Press. SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER
