Job Description
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to assess project requirements and design customized solar power systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, mounting structures, and balance of system components.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to assess project requirements and design customized solar power systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, mounting structures, and balance of system components.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance evaluations to determine optimal system configurations, energy output estimates, and financial projections
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications for solar installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of solar energy systems, conducting inspections and troubleshooting as needed.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, and planning, to coordinate project activities, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Track projects and give timely updates and reports
- Design solar inverter systems to meet clients’ power/energy requirements.
- Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of solar power systems.
- Review specifications and recommend engineering changes to achieve solar design objectives.
- Create or interpret the solar panel installation plans, mapping out the steps of the installation and where all of the components will be installed.
- Coordinate with the OHS coordinator and investigate all reported incidents (near-misses and accidents) Perform electrical work needed to connect the solar system to the electric grid. This includes proper grounding systems, controls and all testing necessary.
Qualification
- B.Eng, B.Tech or HND in Electrical or Electronics Engineering/physics/Mechatronics Engineering or any other relevant fields.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in similar role.
- Must demonstrate good practical knowledge for the role.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills.
