Stella Damasus has made a fresh pledge to keep Jaiye Aboderin’s legacy alive, honouring her late husband 21 years after his passing. The actress shared a video on Instagram showing the moment she and her daughters received a posthumous award for him at the AMAN Awards.
In her caption, Stella said she knows Jaiye would be proud of the young women their daughters have become. She thanked God for blessing them with two brilliant, supportive girls who continue to carry his memory with grace. Stella added that they still miss him deeply and will always love him.
21 years later, and we will continue to keep your legacy alive. I know you’d be so proud of how the girls have turned out… We love you forever and we miss you so much,” she wrote, appreciating AMAN Awards for honouring him.
This is not the first time Stella has openly celebrated Jaiye’s memory. Two years ago, she marked the 19th anniversary of his death with an emotional message, calling him her heartbeat and her angel. She recalled how losing him shattered her but said she kept going for the sake of their daughters.
In 2022, she also shared a video collage of their moments together, thanking him for the joy, comfort, and true love he brought into their lives. She admitted that she still cries sometimes and still wishes she had more time with him.
Stella married Jaiye in 1999 at age 21, and they had two daughters before his sudden passing in 2004. Years later, she married filmmaker Daniel Ademinokan, but the marriage ended in 2020. Stella later revealed she believed he was her soulmate until the relationship fell apart. She urged women to pay attention to red flags and avoid rushing into marriage.
