Controversial TikTok streamer, Peller, has alleged that he has been receiving death threats following his call for Nigerians to stop the ongoing #30DayRants challenge on Tiktok.
The #30DayRants challenge has seen many Nigerians openly criticizing poor governance, using TikTok as an outlet to express their frustrations.
However, Peller warned that continued participation could lead to the government banning the platform, which would severely impact his livelihood. His stance has sparked widespread backlash, with many accusing him of attempting to silence free speech.
During a recent livestream, Peller disclosed that he had received multiple threats, including warnings that he could be targeted in the same manner as his late colleague, Oloba Salo, who was shot in the Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos State last year.
“I have been receiving death threats,” he said. “Some people threatened to shoot me like they shot Salo in Lekki. They told me to watch my back whenever I go out.”
Disturbed by the hostility, Peller abruptly ended his stream, stating, “What is all this? I’m not talking again. Goodbye.”
His claims have sparked discussions about the growing tension surrounding the #30DayRants challenge, as well as concerns over online safety and freedom of speech.
Meanwhile, security agencies have yet to confirm any official investigation into the threats against him.
