About the Role

As the first Study Abroad Travel Consultant at Pay4Me, you will play a critical role in setting up processes and guiding and supporting students through the complex process of studying abroad. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and help with IELTS/TOEFL preparation, visa applications, scholarships, loans, and other funding discovery, university applications, Statement of Purpose (SOP) writing, and interview preparation. Your role will be integral to helping students achieve their educational dreams and ensuring they are fully prepared for every step of their international education journey.

Responsibilities

• Student Counselling: Provide personalized counseling to students and their families on study abroad opportunities, visa requirements, and travel arrangements. Help them navigate through the complexities of studying in foreign countries.
• Partnerships: Identify and build relationships with local and foreign institutions, partners, and families to build a continuous pipeline of clientele and recurring revenue opportunities.
• KPIs, Data, and Reporting Capabilities: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular reports to measure the effectiveness of counseling sessions, applications, and other processes.
• IELTS/TOEFL and Language Support: Offer guidance and resources for IELTS/TOEFL preparation, including tips, study materials, and practice sessions to help students achieve their required language proficiency scores.
• Visa Application Assistance: Guide students through the application process, ensuring they meet all requirements and submit all necessary documentation on time. Provide insights into the specific visa requirements for different countries.
• University and College Applications: Assist students with the application process for universities and colleges abroad, including selecting the right institutions, preparing application documents, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Essays & Statement of Purpose (SOP) Services: Provide expert advice and editing services for students’ Statements of Purpose and Essays, helping them craft compelling narratives highlighting their strengths and aspirations.
• Funding Sourcing: Help students identify, prepare for, and apply to various funding sources, such as scholarships, grants, student loans, campus jobs (RA/GA/TA Roles), and other work-study opportunities.
• Interview Preparation: Prepare students for university and visa interviews by conducting mock interviews, providing feedback, and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed.
• Travel and Accommodation Planning: Assist students in planning their travel and accommodation arrangements, ensuring they have a smooth transition to their new country of study.
• Events and Travel: Organize and participate in educational fairs, workshops, and university visits while coordinating students’ travel arrangements to ensure a smooth transition to their study destinations.
• Sales and Marketing: Drive student enrollment and service adoption through targeted marketing campaigns, lead generation, and building solid relationships with clients and educational partners.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across various departments in the company, including but not limited to marketing, legal, and content, to develop and implement comprehensive student support strategies, marketing campaigns, social media, and content strategies while mentoring colleagues and sharing industry knowledge.
• Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, requirements, and changes in the international education and visa sectors to provide accurate and timely advice to students.
• Travel: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and willingness to travel as needed (10-25%).

Qualifications

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of continuous work experience in study abroad consulting, student visa processing, or a related field.
• IELTS/TOEFL/GMAT/GRE and Other Proficiency Tests: Strong knowledge of English language proficiency tests (IELTS/TOEFL) and other exams such as GMAT/GRE and their requirements for studying abroad.
• Visa Knowledge: In-depth understanding of visa processes for various countries, particularly in relation to student visas.
• Writing and Communication Skills: Exceptional writing skills, particularly in crafting Statements of Purpose, and strong verbal communication skills for conducting interviews and counseling sessions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address and resolve complex issues related to applications, visa processing, and travel arrangements.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring all application and visa documents are accurate and complete.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and their families and work collaboratively with educational institutions and visa authorities.
• Continuous Learning: A commitment to constant learning and staying informed about changes in the study abroad sector.
