Sunmbo Adeoye shares photos from Zion’s graduation, celebrating a major chapter in her son’s academic journey. A week after the event, the proud mother took to social media to reflect on the joyous occasion, calling it a moment that marked both victory and fulfilment for their entire family.
Zion, the son of Sunmbo and music icon 2Baba, didn’t just complete secondary school — he finished strong, bagging five prestigious awards in one day. Four were for academic excellence, and one recognised him as the top student in the Commerce Class of 2025.
Present at the ceremony were Zion’s father, 2Baba, his grandmother Rose Idibia, his half-sisters Isabella and Olivia (daughters of Annie Idibia), his uncle Charles Idibia, and Sunmbo’s husband, Pastor Adeoye. Also in attendance was Zion’s elder brother, Nino Idibia.
Expressing her gratitude, Sunmbo wrote,
One week today. Jesus, we thank you for your blessing, which makes us rich and adds no sorrow.
A significant milestone in our family.
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for a sign and a wonder…
Congratulations, Zion Idibia, for graduating in flying colours.”
She continued, “My son, you didn’t just finish secondary school o, you dominated it. Congrats, son.”
This isn’t the first time Sunmbo has publicly celebrated her children’s milestones. In May, she proudly shared Nino’s graduation from Bible School. She reflected on her journey from student to faculty member and now, a proud parent.
Back in April, she marked Zion’s 17th birthday with a family outing to a restaurant and cinema, offering thanks for his life. For his 16th birthday, she had praised his kind heart, humility, and wisdom, calling him a source of joy and contentment.
