Super Falcons forward and five-time Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) champion, Francisca Mlumun Ordega, made a humanitarian visit to the Yelewata Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Makurdi, Benue State, on Tuesday.

During her visit, she donated relief materials to support victims of violent attacks that left many homeless and grieving.

The visit followed a deadly attack in Yelewata months earlier, which claimed numerous lives and displaced many residents. Ordega, visibly touched by the plight of the displaced families, expressed her solidarity with them and stressed the importance of sustained support for those affected by insecurity.

She highlighted the need for collective efforts to alleviate their suffering and restore hope.

The camp residents warmly welcomed the football star, cheering her arrival and thanking her for her kindness and generosity. Many described her gesture as a beacon of hope, proving that their struggles had not been forgotten.

They also called on other public figures and stakeholders to follow Ordega’s example by extending support to vulnerable communities.

Francisca Ordega’s visit not only provided immediate relief but also drew attention to the ongoing challenges faced by IDPs in Benue State. Her act of compassion reinforced the power of sports personalities to inspire positive change and bring attention to critical humanitarian issues.

The Super Falcons star continues to use her platform to advocate for the less privileged, demonstrating that her impact extends far beyond the football pitch.
