Nigerian singer Teni Apata, the younger sister of fellow artist Niniola, has sparked conversation across social media with her candid comments on the state of the female music industry in Nigeria.

Taking to her Instagram page, Teni expressed her frustration, noting how the female side of the industry is too “boring” due to the absence of drama, fights, or beef between female artists.

Teni contrasted this with the male music industry, where feuds and ongoing drama often keep fans entertained and engaged. She urged her female colleagues to follow in the footsteps of their male counterparts by creating some excitement. Teni humorously lamented that all the female artists are too mature, living in peace and harmony with each other, which she feels has made the industry less thrilling.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. This female industry is too boring. Because tell me why Ayra Starr and Tems no fit see themselves and say ‘Ur Papa’. Tell me why I can’t see Tiwa and be telling her, ‘Mama, what’s wrong with you? Where are you coming from? You don’t see what is happening on the other side? Everybody is just doing love and harmony. Let me see Yemi Alade and beat her, make we see ourselves for outside and spice things up, and we will still collaborate. Make we dey give them Saint Obi for this music game,” Teni quipped.

Teni’s remarks quickly sparked reactions from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

Dbanj humorously responded, “Action star. Stay tuned, Teni Lee,” while actress Beverly Osu playfully commented, “Gaddam boredom is making you toxic. Love and harmony always.” Comedian Taaooma added to the fun by advising, “Another day to remind you to stay away from Teni.”

Fans also chimed in, with mixed reactions. Some found Teni’s comments entertaining, while others urged her to focus on her music. One fan, Grand Prince Ita, joked, “You people should collect her phone o,” while another, Obiyo Chinwe, pointed out, “You sef you never ready, you still dey call Tiwa mama.”

This isn’t the first time Teni has expressed a desire for more excitement. Months earlier, she made headlines after she threatened to beat up a troll’s baby daddy for giving a negative review of her new song. The incident drew mixed reactions, with some fans calling her out for being “razz,” to which Teni cheekily reminded them of her blue passport.
