The Weeknd, a popular singer, has set two new records on Spotify. He has been honoured with a place in the Guinness World Records as the most popular artist on the planet. The first record he broke was for the most monthly listeners in Spotify’s history. He reached over 111 million listeners. The second was for being the first artist to surpass 100 million monthly listeners in general.
The Weeknd has also joined Michael Jackson as the only artist with multiple No. 1 songs from three of his albums, thanks to his newly released “Die For You (Remix)” featuring Ariana Grande.
His 2020 track “Blinding Lights” has set multiple records, including achieving the most Spotify streams ever and being the longest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100, spending a total of 90 weeks on the chart. Overall, The Weeknd has proven to be a highly successful artist with an impressive track record.
