Veteran Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva, has revealed his intentions to transition into coaching after his current playing contract concludes.
At 39 years of age and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, Silva is contemplating retirement. The Brazilian has had a remarkable career, including stints in Brazil, Russia, a Serie A title with AC Milan, and seven Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain.
At Chelsea, he remains a key figure in the squad, having played every minute of Premier League football in the current season alongside goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Silva expressed his managerial aspirations, stating, “On the pitch, I’m already a bit of a manager. I see a lot of situations, and I warn [the others] about certain situations. This relationship is important.”
While he’s set to continue playing for at least one more season, Silva’s ambition to contribute to the game from the sidelines as a coach is clear.
Chelsea fans can expect to see him in action when they face Tottenham in the upcoming Premier League match.
