West Ham Midfielder Declan Rice has spoken to Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel over the phone and is open to joining the German champions, report Sky Germany.
The midfielder remains high on Bayern’s shortlist as Tuchel looks to start an entire season at Bayern after replacing Nagelsmann a few months ago.
West Ham expects Rice to leave after rejecting several contract extensions at the London Stadium this summer.
Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg shared the news on the phone call via Twitter:
❗️News #Rice: There was a phone call with #Tuchel a few days ago! Been told it was a good talk. Both appreciate each other. Rice is open to join Bayern & Tuchel. FCB wants to intensify their efforts now. He’s still a transfer target.

In response to the Bayern rumours, Declan Rice gave fans something to consider.
After giving his morning greeting, the midfielder switched to German before repeating: “Guten morgen,” seemingly a clear nod to the Bayern links.
Rice could leave West Ham over the summer, and he has a “gentleman’s agreement” with the club to let him leave, providing the price is right.
However, Arsenal are set to bid for Rice this summer, and time is running out for Bayern to enter the picture.
