Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has expressed satisfaction with the calibre of work completed on the Abuja Rail Mass Transit system.
Wike conducted an inspection of the project prior to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu launching its commercial operations.
As part of the Federal Government’s first anniversary celebration, Tinubu will officially launch the rail mass transportation system.
After doing a facility inspection, Wike boarded the train and stopped along the way at the stadium, Idu, and the airport stations.
The Minister said that the project was prepared for commercial operation to begin, adding that the President’s pledge had come true.
“In a few days, the President will inaugurate the commercial operation of this Metro line.
“We are ready and you can see the facilities. The promise Mr. President made has been kept,” he said.
He did, however, add that certain amenities, such as air-cooling systems, particularly in the waiting areas, and escalators and lifts for the elderly and sick, which were left out during project design, would be taken into account and added later, provided that the omission would not interfere with operations.
