President Bola Tinubu has extended an invitation to the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to visit Nigeria.
According to a statement by the President’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the UAE leader has accepted the invitation and is expected to visit Nigeria later this year.
The invitation was conveyed during bilateral discussions held on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, where President Tinubu participated as a guest of the UAE President.
Tinubu, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, delivered Nigeria’s stance on global challenges, including climate change, during the event.
He commended the UAE for organizing the impactful forum, which fosters international cooperation on sustainable development.
During their discussions, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his commitment to strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and the UAE.
Tinubu highlighted Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms, which have attracted significant foreign investments and bolstered investor confidence.
“These reforms have stabilized and grown the economy, encouraging billion-dollar investments from international oil companies and other foreign investors,” Tinubu said, urging the UAE to collaborate with Nigeria in its economic development initiatives.
The Nigerian President also expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by Sheikh Mohamed and his aides during his stay in Abu Dhabi.
