President Bola Tinubu is anticipated to receive a report on the performance of the Federal Government’s ministries, departments, and agencies during the first quarter of 2024.

According to Presidency insiders familiar with the process, the report would serve as the foundation for the President’s evaluation of his cabinet ministers.

“What I know is that an interim report on the performance of the ministers has been submitted to the President, and the report for the first quarter is being prepared,” a source told The PUNCH, preferring to remain anonymous since he was not permitted to comment.

A second source, who did not want to be identified, likewise dismissed allegations about specific ministers being targeted for dismissal as “rumours”.

“People are carrying those rumours all over the place. May 29 is just weeks away, if the President is shaking up his cabinet, we would know by now,” said a senior person familiar with cabinet affairs.

On April 8, 2024, Mrs. Hadiza Bala-Usman, the President’s Special Adviser on Policy Coordination and director of the Central Delivery Coordination Unit, confirmed that the CDCU had received reports from at least 20 of the 35 ministries.

She said that the Q1 evaluation report will be the result of a collaborative effort among ministries, people, and industry experts.
