Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has subtly thrown shade at unidentified married celebrities who once judged her.
Taking to her Instagram story, Toke gave a shout-out to these unnamed women, noting how life has visited them. She emphasized that this is one of the reasons she refrains from judging others, as she pointed out that some of these women claim to be married yet are available for other men.
Despite their past judgments, Toke expressed that she still holds love for them and extends grace.
S/O all the people that used to judge me.
Now that life has visited you, I’ll show you grace.
Awon married woman but available.
This is why I never judged anyone.
Look how life has humbled you now,
Love you still”.
In a subsequent post, Toke added that she wasn’t ready to break tables and sent love and light to married women.
Let’s not shake tables. Love and light”.
Last month, Toke clapped back at a troll who mocked her for being unmarried. The troll had stated that the media personality had passed the single era and was now in her unmarried era. Reacting, Toke declared that God would bless her with a partner, and her troll would be alive to congratulate her. She also noted that if she retaliated harshly, people would label her as mean, so she sent him love and light instead.
Recently, Toke responded to an X user who incorrectly upgraded her age. The user praised her for looking hot in her 40s, to which Toke replied by clarifying that she hadn’t clocked 40 yet. She assured the tweep that when she turns 40, she will look even hotter.
Toke Makinwa was once married to fitness expert Maje Ayinde, but the marriage crashed in 2016 after two years due to adultery. Reflecting on her failed marriage, Toke revealed that she was often blamed for its failure, even though her ex-husband fathered a child with another woman. She expressed that people had various misconceptions about her marriage, which left her traumatized as she was the victim.
Toke’s post stirred reactions on social media, with many slamming her for not calling out the individuals by name. Here are some reactions:
– “Why I love Angela Okorie, she will call names with her full chest.”
– “Call names with your full chest, please. I don’t like half and corner gist.”
– “People judge or condemn what they’ve not been through. Till it’s their turn.”
– “The way married people are dating each other, eh!! God should just come down.”
