Rapper Tory Lanez, has hired David Kenner to represent him in his motion for a new trial. The lawyer has previously represented Suge Knight and Snoop Dogg. Tory Lanez however was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in December.
The sentencing date has been postponed to April 10th. The gag order that prevented Lanez from speaking about the trial has also been lifted. Lanez is hoping that Kenner can persuade the Los Angeles judge that he deserves a new trial after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
Kenner successfully defended Snoop Dogg in a murder trial, and he recently represented Suge Knight in a civil trial. At the hearing on Tuesday, Kenner asked Judge Herriford to retire the protective order that prevents Peterson from mentioning Megan or any details about the case.
Although the judge did not agree, he said Kenner could try again on February 28th.
