Tottenham Eyes Conor Gallagher as Chelsea Weighs January Exit

Tottenham Hotspur remains keen on acquiring Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, with reports suggesting that Chelsea might consider selling him in the January transfer window. Chelsea is reportedly looking to strengthen their attack and raise funds, making Gallagher a potential departure candidate.

Gallagher, who has captained Chelsea at times this season due to the absence of club skipper Reece James, faced uncertainties about his future. Despite initial expectations of leaving the club, injuries to other players provided him with opportunities, and he even wore the captain’s armband.

With 18 appearances in all competitions this season, Gallagher’s impressive performances have caught the attention of Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham. The club had previously been close to signing him in the summer, and sources suggest they are prepared to make a move if Chelsea decides to part ways with the 23-year-old midfielder.

Chelsea, considering Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney as potential additions, could utilize funds from Gallagher’s sale. Tottenham, having been close to signing him for £40 million in the summer, may now seize the opportunity if Gallagher becomes available once again. Selling Gallagher could contribute to Chelsea’s significant profits from selling homegrown players, surpassing the £200 million mark and enabling them to navigate Financial Fair Play regulations.
