Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has reportedly taken decisive action against a X user who cyber-bullied and defamed her, wishing death on her son.

The incident stems from the ongoing backlash against the actress for her support of President Tinubu during the General Election.

A source close to the situation, identified as Reedah, revealed that the X user, known as Yarlo, was arrested four days ago by police officers who traveled from Lagos. The arrest was made in response to the user’s cyber-bullying activities against Toyin Abraham.

Hello, I am Reedah and Yarlo is my friend. Heard from his mom he has been arrested since 4 days ago. Heard the police came from Lagos to arrest him. They said he was cyber-bullying Toyin Abraham. Any help you can render will be deeply appreciated,” Reedah shared.

Prior to his arrest, the X user had engaged in a heated exchange with Toyin, during which he made disturbing comments about her son. He tweeted,

So na you Dem promise good governance on behalf of Nigeria? Onijere seh. Your son go kpai soon.” He also added, “Use me as first scapegoat,” to which Toyin responded, “Okay then since you say I should use you, then your wish is my command.”

The arrest has sparked various reactions online:

– Tiwa Topeh: “Well, she did good. It’s okay to come for her which is not even necessary. What is joy okay is cursing her. That’s extreme.”
– Prank Hottiee: “His wish was granted.”
– Boyam Beauty Empire: “Enough of cyber bullying that’s the best way to go. Was she the only one that voted Tinubu, make una rest.”
– Artist Reflections: “Excellent move Toyin, solidly with you on this.”
– Oma Dearest: “Very silly guy. I hate it when they pass curses to innocent family members especially children.”

During and after the election, Toyin Abraham faced severe online harassment for her open support of Tinubu’s administration. In an interview, she expressed her distress over the relentless bullying, stating that she had never experienced such extreme trolling before. She noted that many went as far as to petition her brands and urge Netflix to remove her movies. She added that she felt intimidated, bullied, insulted, and cursed because of her political stance.
