Nollywood actress and box office queen Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi was left taken aback when Corp members in Oyo State stormed her movie set to show their support.
Captured in a heartwarming video, Toyin was seen riding a horse to meet the excited Corp members. Their visit was a gesture of solidarity following the intense social media criticism she faced earlier this week.
Earlier in the week, Toyin faced backlash for arresting a social media troll who accused her of detaining his mother, a claim Toyin denied. The situation escalated when Nigerians reported her to Netflix, urging the platform to remove her movies in protest of her actions.
In response to the controversy, many of Toyin’s colleagues have rallied around her. Veteran actor Saidi Balogun criticized the double standards, highlighting how using the police for minor disputes is common, yet it becomes an issue when a celebrity does the same. Biola Bayo expressed her support, praying for strength for Toyin during this challenging time.
Alesh Sanni condemned the extreme bitterness and frustration displayed by some Nigerians, pointing out the cruelty of cursing an innocent child. Afeez Owo and Yinka Quadri called for unity among actors against bullying and emotional blackmail, while Allwell Ademola highlighted the double standards faced by celebrities on social media.
