“Ijakumo,” conceived six months ago, has quickly become the top West African native language drama and held the #1 spot on Netflix for two weeks straight, filling Toyin with gratitude.
“Ijakumo” stands out as the only Nigerian film to top Netflix for over two weeks. Toyin Abraham stressed that articulating desires, coupled with effort, yields great outcomes. She inspired followers to believe in their words’ power, trusting in divine listening and rewards.
In her Instagram post, she wrote,
Trust me… whatever you want, manifest it! Speak it into existence and do the work! God listens and he rewards! Six months ago, Ijakumo: The Born Again stripper was the Number 1 Indigenous Language drama at the West African Box Office. Today, it is the Number 1 movie in Nigeria on Netflix, for 2 weeks in a row – only Nigerian film to be Number one for two weeks (and counting!) in 2023. For a non-branded, licensed film, this is huge!”
Toyin recognized “Ijakumo”‘s huge success as an independent movie and thanked Netflix Global, Netflix Naija, and major contributors. She light-heartedly requested “another big cheque” from the film industry.
