Troops from the 24 Task Force Brigade under Operation Hadin Kai have successfully ambushed and neutralised two Boko Haram terrorists in Koibe village, Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation, conducted in the early hours of Friday, May 9, 2025, was part of the ongoing Operation Desert Sanity IV.
Acting on actionable intelligence, the troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce firefight at approximately 2:30 a.m. The terrorists, unable to withstand the offensive, were forced to retreat in disarray, likely sustaining multiple gunshot wounds as they fled toward the Boboshe axis.
Following the initial engagement, the troops launched a follow-up exploitation mission at the contact site. During the operation, they discovered two freshly dug graves at Boboshe, which were found to contain the remains of two neutralised insurgents. While attempting to recover the bodies around 11:00 a.m., the soldiers came under fire from remnants of the terrorist group. The troops responded with superior firepower and pursued the fleeing attackers toward the Gargash general area.
The successful ambush and subsequent recovery of the insurgents’ bodies underscore the Nigerian military’s continued commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace and security to the Northeast region.
