Troops under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully neutralized a suspected bandit and an armed robber in separate security operations in Wase and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
Major Samson Zhakom, OPSH’s Media Officer, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday in Jos. He stated that the operations conducted on March 24, 2025, were part of a broader effort to eliminate criminal threats in the region.
In Wase LGA, troops carried out a clearance operation in Kampani Zurak, where they engaged and took down a suspected bandit linked to a criminal network operating across Wase and Taraba State.
On the same day, in series of security operations, the troops responded to a distress call about an armed robbery along the Bokkos–Richa road. Upon arrival, they engaged the assailants in a firefight, overpowering them with superior firepower. One suspect was neutralized, while the others escaped with injuries.
An AK-47 rifle was recovered from the scene, and security operatives have launched a follow-up security operation to track down the fleeing criminals.
