A UI/UX designer has taken to social media to call out music executive Ubi Franklin for allegedly refusing to pay her after she completed a job for him. According to the designer, Ubi reached out to her via singer Iyanya’s official Twitter account and gave her his number to discuss the job. They chatted on WhatsApp, and the designer gave him a quote of N500K after he gave her the job brief. The designer confirmed that it was indeed Ubi she was working for during a Zoom call.
After Ubi asked her to start the job, he promised to pay her later in a voice note which she shared on Twitter. The designer claimed she did not receive any payment and when she contacted Ubi, he explained that it was because of the elections and promised to pay after they ended.
However, after the elections, she still did not receive payment and had to threaten to call him out on social media before Ubi replied. She shared screenshots of their chats to back up her claims and has since received support from several social media users. Ubi Franklin is yet to respond to the allegations made by the UI/UX designer.
