Nigerian talent manager Ubi Franklin, best known as the best friend of award-winning music star Davido, has achieved a significant milestone by earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) degree from the University of Essex.
Ubi shared this exciting news on his Instagram page, recounting the journey that led him to this accomplishment.
He revealed that in March 2020, during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nigeria was about to go into lockdown. Feeling restless and eager to achieve more, Ubi realized that his existing university degrees were not enough. He decided to pursue a law degree in the UK, and after discussing his intentions with Pastor Tobi, who encouraged him, Ubi embarked on this new academic journey.
Ubi explained that after several delays, he woke up one morning determined to find a suitable university. He searched the internet until he discovered the University of Essex, where he eventually enrolled. His studies covered various subjects, including Legal Skills and Context, Public Law, Criminal Law, Business Environment, Business and Management Skills, Law of Tort, Land Law, Operations Management, and Wills and Administration of Estates.
In his heartfelt Instagram post, Ubi expressed deep gratitude to Pastor Tobi for his continuous support and encouragement throughout his academic pursuit. He also extended his appreciation to Davido and his wife, Chioma, for their unwavering support.
Ubi Franklin now joins a growing list of Nigerian celebrities who have recently earned degrees. Last month, Nollywood actor Akeem Adeyemi celebrated earning a Master’s Degree in International Business from a UK university. In May, gospel singer Lanre Teriba received his first degree from Boston University in Massachusetts, USA. Additionally, in April, Big Brother Naija season 3 winner Miracle Ikechukwu graduated with distinction from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, USA. Actress Wumi Toriola also completed her Master’s Degree at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology last year, sharing her joy and gratitude with her fans earlier this year.
