Uche Ogbodo, a Nigerian actress, received harsh backlash on social media when she criticized a man for requesting that a woman who threatened to falsely accuse him of rape be prosecuted. Richard Osita had criticized the Nigerian Police on his Instagram story for dismissing his appeal against his blackmailer, Bella Nwoko.
Recall that Osita called out Bella on social media last weekend and she then uploaded a video of herself apologizing for accusing him of rape in 2021. Osita claimed he went to the police station to complain about Bella despite the apology. However, the police officers did not listen to him since it was a “female-on-male crime.”
Uche Ogbodo reacted by criticizing Osita on her Instagram page for being vengeful and persistent in persecuting his former friend despite her public apology. She claimed that Osita has no case because the woman simply implied that she would accuse the man of rape; she never actually did so.
In her words,
“Richard, you need to relax with your vindictive approach! She threatened to accuse you but she never did….and turned around to apologize for it. Forgive her then and move on! Let us stop pushing wicked and mean people to ruin people’s lives all in the name of ‘I am right’.”
Ogbodo also criticized Osita for making disrespectful remarks about the Nigerian Police.
“What manner of person is this guy? You want her to pay for what? For not carrying out a threat yet? Nah you even carry am come social media come announce am. Abeg shift Richard!” she added.
Her comment drew several reactions from her fans and colleagues

“Na lie! She must face the consequences. False rape accusations can destroy someone’s life, career, and reputation forever!!! Anytime you search for his name, rape could be mentioned. And his crime was ‘not being interested in her’. She needs to be jailed.”
